David Steiner, M.D.

About me

Dr. David Steiner helped found Aiken Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Associates, P.A. in 1994. In 1984, Dr. Steiner received an M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in psychiatry at the University of Virginia in 1988. Following his residency, Dr. Steiner furthered his education as a Fellow of Geriatric Neuropsychiatry at the University of Virginia and Western State Hospital in 1987. From 1988 to 1992, he was an Assistant Professor in the University of Virginia Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Steiner has been in private practice in Aiken, South Carolina since 1992.

 

He has served as the Clinical Director of Geriatric Services, and Medical Director at Aiken Regional Medical Center Aurora Pavilion. Beginning in September 2012, he served as the Medical Director of Generations, Trinity Hospital of Augusta’s Geriatric Psychiatric Inpatient Treatment Program until it’s closure in July of 2017. He consults at numerous nursing homes in South Carolina and Georgia. Dr. Steiner has an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at Augusta University’s Department of Psychiatry. He also helps cover psychiatric patients at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA.

 

At Aiken Psychiatric, Dr. Steiner sees adult and elderly individuals for diagnostic evaluations and medication treatment.

 

Dr Steiner is board certified in psychiatry.
